Application Of Vehicle-Mounted Mobile Measurement System In Road Asset Census
The advent of the information age has brought a brand-new technical model for the planning, design, construction, maintenance and management of road system. 1. Project Overview
The survey area of the project is located in a certain place in Hubei province. Due to the large traffic flow throughout the day and the fast speed of vehicles, it is dangerous to take the manual surveying and mapping on the road by using traditional surveying and mapping methods such as RTK, and it is difficult to obtain complete road panoramic image data.

This project needs to obtain road traffic facility asset data in a certain place in Hubei province, including road facilities (road sections, bicycle lanes, sidewalks, ramps, drainage facilities, highway pedestrian overpasses, pedestrian underpasses, slopes, etc.), traffic management facilities (road traffic signs, road traffic markings, guardrails, anti-dazzel facility), public traffic facilities (metro stations, charging stations, bus stops, etc.), traffic related facilities (traffic flow monitoring equipment, traffic lights, gantry, variable information boards). Finally, 3D laser point cloud, 3D panoramic image, and road vector data are generated through software.
2) Project Difficulties
The traffic flow in the measurement area is large, the speed of the passing vehicles is fast, and the amount of road traffic facility asset data that needs to be collected is large.
HiScan-Z vehicle-mounted laser mobile measurement system is a fast, efficient, non-contact surveying and mapping technology. It obtains comprehensive point cloud and panoramic image information through non-contact mobile measurement of the road system, and realizes the transformation of data collection from "manual " to "automation", has greatly saved labor costs.
In this project HiScan-Z vehicle-mounted laser mobile measurement system is applied to accurately scan and obtain laser point cloud data and panoramic image data of road traffic facilities. By extracting the refined vector map and attribute information from the point cloud and panoramic image, the data processing is realized from "dispersion" to "integration".

4. Data Results
Data collection and production:
The field collection includes the collection by the vehicle-mounted laser mobile measurement system and the field annotation and supplementary collection. For the data on both sides of the open street, the HiScan-Z vehicle-mounted laser mobile measurement system is mainly used for the field data collection; for road areas that cannot be reached by vehicles such as the sidewalks, pedestrian tunnels and culverts, as well as some single-point panoramic stations and special locations, manual supplementary survey and collection are required for corresponding data collection.
The internal data production mainly includes raw data pre-processing, road asset thematic data extraction, road real-world 3D data production, and attribute data annotation and filling.

Taking the point cloud data and image data obtained from the vehicle-mounted mobile measurement system as the original data, and processing the original data based on the Hi-Cloud whole-process processing software, the basic traffic geographic information database and various thematic databases can be obtained. Build a visualized road traffic asset data management platform through 3D real scene and 2D/3D management display technology.
Through the road asset management platform, managers can easily realize the intelligent management of the road and its affiliated facilities, so as to realize the linkage of 2D and 3D maps, and clearly view the information of the road surface and surrounding traffic facilities at any location, so as to facilitate accurate statistical analysis of the elements of new added traffic assets.

The general survey and management of road traffic assets through the HiScan-Z vehicle-mounted laser mobile measurement system can improve the efficiency of road traffic facility asset data collection and processing; enhance the full life cycle data exchange, avoid information attenuation to the greatest extent, and greatly improve the efficiency, accuracy and safety of traditional manual census methods.
